A few years ago we decided to do a month long secret santa for one of our friends that was struggling. We liked that idea and wanted to do it again this year with a few little adjustments. We first were trying to figure out who we wanted to do it for. Immediately we both thought of Ana and Vince and Ali. They have had a rough time especially the last few years both emotionally and financially.
They have a gnarly security system and it would be very difficult to get away with doing a ding dong ditch every day like we did last time. We would for sure have had to get other people to do it for us and doing that 24 times seemed like too much. So, we decided that do recruit a friend to do a one-time drop off of a bunch of presents in a big red Santa bag - however Christmas Santa bags are crazy expensive and you can’t really use them again - so instead, a large red laundry bag.
We bought a bunch of presents, some practical and some fun, and wrapped them all up to give to them. There are about 20 presents in the large bag and we hope that this will help make their Christmas a little bit merrier.
We had to include some board games but wanted to throw them off the scent to make sure they didn’t think it was us so we included games like Monopoly and Uno (which Jared would never gift to anyone 😉)!
Also since Jared’s family is always comparing handwriting at family parties, we needed Chad’s fine penmanship to help with the card:
We love them lots and hope that this can help them feel a bit happier. We’re always grateful for this opportunity each year to serve those around us, and it especially means a lot when it’s someone we care so much about.
