Family Service 2022

For our Christmas Service gift to you this year, we had the fabulous opportunity to join the group Thanksgiving Heroes and deliver Thanksgiving meals to three families! Every year this group gets donations from individuals and businesses, along with nominations from the community of people that are in need of a Thanksgiving meal. It was an amazing experience and one that we will never forget! Here’s a run down of our day:

After signing up for a time slot to come pick up our deliveries, here was the email that they sent to us.

Delivery day came and here we are getting our assignment… three families up in West Jordan!

Driving up to the pick up spot was amazing! There were tons of people there volunteering their time and helping to get all of the food loaded into all the cars that were delivering… high school sports teams, biker clubs (ya know… like the Wild Hogs!)… such a cool atmosphere!

Here was our Route! We were amazed at the organization that went into planning for this delivery day. This was our route… three families in West Jordan with a QR code for the addresses, etc.

The instructions told us to text the families to let them know we were on our way - so we let them know and headed off!

We had a card for each family that Hadlea gave to them to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving and explain how much the community loves them!

First house delivery! This sweet family included a teenage daughter who opened the door and let us in to bring in the food. She was so sweet and ran to get each of the girls a fruit snack to say thank you.

Here was the text conversation between me and Cheryl, the second house we delivered to. This was so overwhelming! This was a simple act for us to do and a wonderful experience for our family one Saturday morning… but the gratitude she showed melted our hearts!

Quotes from the girls when we asked them about the experience:

Hadlea: BIG SMILE “I felt so good! I loved handing out the cards to them!”

Brooklin: “It felt good to deliver food to people in need!”

Harper: “I felt so good delivering the food. My favorite part was giving the food to them because we got to see their faces be happy!”

We had some great conversations about our blessings and how grateful we are to be able to spend time to serve others! Thank you for encouraging us to be more like Christ and look for people to serve! We love you! Merry Christmas!

-Heath, Linlea, Harper, Brooklin, Hadlea, and Skylar
