We had the chance to put together Christmas care packages for children at the Emanuel Children's Hospital in Portland in long-term stays at the hospital. When Camden's brother Spencer was really sick they spent long stretches in the hospital bored or wishing they could be at home, so it was especially meaningful to help them make the hospital feel a little more like home. These are children who have long-term illnesses that keep them in the hospital during Christmas or for longer stretches of time, so we gave them everything from practical things like socks to keep their feet warm in hospital to puzzles and coloring books as well as Christmas decorations give them something fun to do and make the hospital a little more festive. We feel so grateful we got to be part of that.
